Teaching Text: Ephesians 6:21-24
Teacher Study Notes:
- Overview / Review: Ephesians shows God’s work in believers (Eph. 1-3) and through believers (Eph. 4-6) so they may experience all of God’s blessings. These blessings are a result of God’s grace and standing firm against the attacks of Satan. This book is written for the believers in Ephesus to understand and put to use the grace of God in their lives and relationships with others.
- Notice how Paul summarizes the whole book in the last verses. He begins by addressing his previous topic and the last half of the book by making a reference to the peace that believers can have. The root, or source, of this is found in the love of Christ that God provides to the believer through faith in Christ as seen in the first half of the book. Paul summarizes the book by looking at God’s work in the believer and through the believer.
- God’s Grace: God gives His grace and enables the believer to live by His grace. The individual provides the living example of what God can do by living in unity and being spiritually victorious for others to see.
